The agreement between you and austories.

1. Who can use austories

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use austories only with a parent or guardian involved.

You may not use austories if we have previously suspended your account.

2. Your content stays yours

You keep every right you have in what you post. You grant austories a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content for the purpose of operating the service. That includes showing it to readers, generating previews and thumbnails, and backing it up.

This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept in backups for a reasonable period and any copies we must keep to comply with law or to document a moderation decision.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you post. austories is a hosting service and we do not review content before it is published. By posting, you confirm that:

• You created the work, or you have the right to post it.
• It follows the Content Policy, which is part of these terms.
• It does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
• Where it is fan content, it is clearly unofficial and not affiliated with or endorsed by the people, brands, or rights holders it references.

Keep your own copy. Content can be removed after a valid report, sometimes without prior warning. Please do not let austories be the only place your work exists.

4. Copyright and repeat infringement

We act on valid copyright reports. Our Copyright page explains how to report material, how we handle it, and how to reply if your work was removed.

We remove repeat infringers. 3 active strikes suspends the account, and strikes expire after 12 months. This policy is applied consistently and is not discretionary.

5. Moderation

We may remove content, restrict its visibility, lock comments, or suspend accounts where the Content Policy has been broken, where we are legally required to, or where content presents a serious safety risk.

Where practical we will tell you what happened and why, and you can reply to appeal. Violations in the "absolute limits" section of the Content Policy result in immediate suspension without a warning.

6. A free, non-commercial archive

austories is a community archive. Publishing and reading are free. There are no ads, no paid tiers, and austories does not pay creators or take a cut of anything. We do not sell individual stories, and readers are never charged to read a series.

Creators may add their own external tip-jar link (for example Ko-fi, PayPal, Buy Me a Coffee, or GCash) to their profile. Any tip is a transaction directly between the reader and the creator through that third-party service. austories only displays the link, is not a party to the payment, receives none of the money, and is not responsible for anything that happens on the external service. Adding a tip link does not grant you any right to material owned by someone else.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, for repeat infringement, or where required by law.

8. Disclaimers and liability

austories is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for content posted by users.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, austories is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of content, profits or data.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use austories after that means you accept the updated terms.
